Philosophy
I love the process of picture making. From idea to canvas, completing as many studies as needed both in B&W and
color, 9X12 studies from life models and plien air work... then the larger studio work for the final finish. Portrait, figurative, landscape, wildlife, and cowboys all depicted in a modern way. All inspiring. The Art of Picture Making. I was first called a “Painter Of The American West” by my mentor and gallery owner Walt Wiggins in Santa Fe.
Art Studies
A private student of mentor Mr. Tom Lovell who critiqued my work for many years. I was honored that he considered my work worthy of his very valuable time, lending his knowledge and guidance too almost every work for over six years. Tom monikered me with “Picture Maker” instead of painter because of the effort put into building a painting the right way.
I completed many workshops including Cowboy Artist of America Joe Beeler, Gary Carter, Jim Norton, Howard Terpning
and more.

Accepted into a private atelier 4-year study under George (Dord) Fitz, Dord Fitz School of Art and the Dord Fitz Gallery
